Quick Start

1. Select required files to match. There are some ways to choose the files to being compared in Visual Comparer:
You simply can start Visual Comparer. There will appear the dialogues of choice for the first and second files. Indicate the required files being compared.
From a command line: if you use any file managers (for example Total Commander or FAR), utilites or programms with possibility to start the other programs, you can set up to start Visual Comparer.
The parameters of a command line as follows: VisCmp "first_file_name" "second_file_name"
After comparison of first files pair you can choose the next pair not exiting off the programm. Use Comparison Bar or menu command File - "Compare files...".
2. Merging and editing:
To merge the differences use the following commands:
  • - dislocation through the differences "Alt+Down" and "Alt+Up";
  • - merging of differences "Alt+Right" and "Alt+Left";
Visual Comparer is a full-function text editor. You can edit the required parts of texts in both files. Use this possibility to make improvements if necessary.
For roll back or repetition of actions you have already done use Undo/Redo commands.
